Judging - B Book Horses
The B Books are registers of purebred Friesians with traceable lineage
who do not qualify for the Studbook or Foal Book. Horses registered in
the B Book 1 include the progeny of B Book mares bred with foal book
stallions with approved breeding privileges or approved KFPS Studbook
stallions with breeding privileges. Also included in the B Book 1 are
the progeny of foal book or studbook mares that have been bred to foal
book stallions with breeding privileges. In some countries a B Book 2
register is also kept for the progeny of KFPS mares who have been bred
to stallions without breeding permits.
The KFPS have set up this secondary studbook to help countries such
as Australia where there are no KFPS approved stallions with breeding
privileges to help establish their Friesians.
Twenty-two B Book 1 horses, not including stallions were presented
to the KFPS. In Western Australia the colt foals less than 12 months, Wobke
(Lyckle B x Hester fan Bokkum) and Alpha fan Friso
(Reitse x Juliana Friso Royal) both received second premiums and were
the equal prize winners in the foal category of the National Keuring.
In South Australia the filly Zsahliel (Iepe
Tj x Ulrika) received a third premium, in Victoria the filly Xusha
(Iepe Tj x Isis) received third premium and Xtasia
(Iepe Tj x Vrouwke-Caspara) received no premium.
For the boys under 12 months Xavier (Iepe
Tj x Maria's Black Opal), Xander (Geert W x
Giske) and Wizzard (Iepe Tj x Jissel) all
received third premiums.
B Book 1 colts and geldings over twelve months and under three
years included in Western Australia, Tike (Lyckle
B x Hester fan Bokkum) , in New South Wales Tsjade
(Iepe Tj x Maria's Black Opal), in Victoria Reimer
(Iepe Tj x Maria's Black Opal) and Poppe (Iepe
Tj x Nina Lyckle B's Haitske). None received a premium.
The judging for B Book 1 fillies over twelve months old and under
three years in Western Australia, Popke fan Friso
(Iepe Tj x Marleen Petraa Friso) no premium.
In Victoria Wilhelmina Zj (Lyckle B x
Kristine S) and Reitske (Iepe Tj x
Venna-Janneke) received a third premium. In New South Wales for B Book
filly under three years, Tsjallinkje (Iepe
Tj x Vrouwke Caspara) received no premium.
B Book 1 mares, three years and over which were eligible for star
included in Western Australia, Mona Lisa Friso Royal
(Maurits Friso x Alitske Friso) which received no premium.
Unfortunately the mare Juliana Friso Royal (Maurits
Friso x Marleen Petraa Friso) was not accepted into the studbook at
this time due to a problem with movement.
In Victoria, Giske (Tjeerd x Ulrika)
received a third premium and Venna-Janneke (Lyckle
B x Janneke Friso) and Hannah O (Lyckle B x
Vrouwke Caspara) were accepted into the studbook but without premiums.
The only B Book 1 gelding to be presented for judging was Brunhilde's
Grane (Lyckle B x Maria's Black Opal) in New South Wales
which received no premium.
Two B Book 1 stallions were presented for breeding permits. In
Western Australia Reitse (Iepe Tj x Ulrika)
and in South Australia, Nelis (Iepe Tj x
Vrouwke Caspara). As with the foal book stallions the decision for
breeding permits lies with the KFPS in The Netherlands.
General comments on the B Book 1 horses were mainly related to lack
of length of length in forearm and lack of suspension in their
movement.
